Holme Fen fishery weekly report 8nd May
This week started off hard with only one fish out of wasted time in the first two days. Wednesday saw Ian Harle and his group from Earith Lakes Syndicate start a four-day session with the weather getting warmer by the day make a big difference to the fishing. The guys started well with two fish on the bank that evening. Things continued in that fashion for the next 48hrs with the boys catching an impressive 14 fish to 46lb. Inform swims include the Lookout, Beaches and Pump hole with fish being caught at distance towards the middle of the lake. Rob Evans had the two biggest and a brace of 45lb+ fish at 46-05 and 45-15. Ian Harle also caught a brace of 40’s at 42-06 and 41-04. The catch included a further 6 fish between 33lb and 38lb. By Saturday morning the heat started effecting fishing with no more fish being caught.
Poachers Pool has been kicking up a few fish over the last week with Danny Wilson bagging two a lovely dark Mirror at 33-14 and 25-03. John Lee Greaves caught a 30-05 with Johnathon Newbold netting a 20 and dropping a much larger fish at the net.
